Quiet, clean suburb with leafy streets and lovely locals. We hunted around the whole of Brisbane looking for a place to settle and came across Albany Creek on the off chance.

"Central to everything and not to close to a railway"

Having lived in the Albany Creek area for 16 years and had our children grow up in the area we would find it hard to move to anywhere else. There are all the local type shops that are necessary but not the impersonal hype of the city or other central locales. Being anywhere in 10 minutes is a great bonus, as you can go to larger shopping centers and then leave the hustle and bustle behind. Our street is filled with caring neighbors in a wide range of ages, which is great for family living. We have a total of 5 primary schools within 2 minutes of us, both private and public and the High school is 1 minute away. Our older children went through the local high school and are both have successfully entered their desired University course. With golf courses, parks, the leisure center and a huge sporting center all within 5 minutes there is not much missing. Nightlife is not abundant and that suits us fine - that can stay in others areas if it is wanted. The kind of behavior associated with the life of the night is not needed or required here.
Studies have show clearly that suburbs that are near railway stations are more susceptible to break-ins and theft so for our part the inconvenience of traveling 5-8 minutes to a train is a non issue compared to coming home to a destroyed home. Police presence and neighborly care is great. You can't beat a good locality and this explains why fewer homes come on the market in AC. Where would the owners go that could better what they have?

"Albany Creek - Park Life"

Albany Creek is in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and is a convenient and economical suburb choice for anybody working in the area or the city. The public transport system is good with regular buses that are usually on time. There are some great restaurants and cafe, several grocery centre and some nice little specialty shops for the housewives that are prolific in the area. With relatively new housing developments, it's become a good place for young families to settle down. There are some really nice parks about and the aquatics centre. The local schools are adequate and there is a generally friendly vibe in the suburb. At times the teenage element of the suburb can seem disturbing, but all in all they are actually harmless. It's close enough to the city and yet close also to Redcliffe and the bay.

MarkB2
MarkB2 Are you able to comment on how long it takes to get to the city from Albany Creek in peak hour? The Wife and I like the area and surrounding suburbs, however, we are wondering what the commute to the city would look like?

Thanks for your help.
