Whatever people tell you about flood risks or the past flood history of a suburb, make sure you do your homework thoroughly. Most of a suburb may indeed have been spared by recent disasters, but the odd street may well have been affected, and in a pretty serious way too.
So talk to locals and, most importantly, to agents who know the area they’re in charge of. It is a simple thing to do but one you cannot overlook!
Very low. It did not flood in the recent 2010/2011 floods. Annerley is an elevated suburb with many streets that have city views. Ipswich Rd in Annerley runs along a ridge and the suburb slopes down either side (west side towards river down into yeronga and fairfied- that was flood affected) (east side to north coorparoo that was slightly affected with high ground run off water creek levels). So in short, Annerley is great flood free inner city location, unless the river rises to tsunami proportions like 20mtrs above sea level!!!
