"A great place to live for families with young children who want a safe, quiet, friendly neighbourhood with the convenience of a 20 min drive to the Sydney CBD."

We've been in Ashbury for 13 years and are raising three young children. The community is friendly and everyone looks out for one another without being invasive. The parks in the area are vast and well mainatined. There are several schools in the area giving families choice of either a private or public education- both of which have a fantastic reputation. Whilst Ashbury is a beautiful, small suburb it's proximity to shopping centres is fantastic; take your pick Ashfield Mall, Westfields Burwood, Summer Hill village, Broadway shopping centre and Haberfield.

"Affordable Inner West living with space"

Ashbury is ideal for people wanting the convenience of living near the city but seek some space and a backyard. Property sizes and prices vary from large and expensive to small and affordable.

Ashbury has many heritage houses giving the suburb it's charm and character and it is still possible to buy a "renovators delight" making it popular with first home buyers. There are plenty of parks in the area and a good bus service to the city and train stations. There is one large public school and three high schools also in the area. Corner shops are dotted throughout the suburb and Ashfield centre is only a short drive/bus ride which has all the major supermarkets, library and restaurants. The locals comprise of various ethnic backgrounds as well as a mix of singles, young couples, academics, professionals and young families.

The suburb is currently looking forward to the newly approved Canterbury Town Centre redevelopment along the Cooks River which, in the long term, will bring outdoor cafes, restaurants and retail shops.

"Ok Affordable Sydney Suburb"

Ashbury is a suburb in inner-west Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Ashbury is located 10 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district and lies in the local government areas of the City of Canterbury and partly in the Municipality of Ashfield. The postcode is 2193, the same as neighbouring Canterbury.

Ashbury is a mostly residential area, located close to Canterbury Park Racecourse. It has no commercial centre, although there are a handful of shops located on King Street. Its major landmark is Peace Park, the highest point in the Canterbury local government area. Ashbury derived its name from the two neighbouring suburbs Ashfield and Canterbury.
