Is the smell and dust from cement plant in Beeliar a huge issue?

we are looking at moving to the meve estate in Beeliar but have been warned about the dust and awful smell from the cement plant. Is this a huge issue?

Yes, it is. I live in the Yangebup and it is bad enough here. I had friends in Beeliar that had the paint on their car erode after six months, the plant pays for you to have free car washes to help avoid this. The dust builds up on outdoor furniture and on your car, in no time you have a layer on everything (less than a week). The smell is quite strong on occasion. They do seem to let most of the dust out at night so the residents don't see it as much, it is lime apparently. The suburb is in a great location, and they do plan to put million dollar filters on the soon (which demonstrates the problem). I'm sure in time, with enough community outrage, the plant will close but that could be some time unfortunately.
