"Amazing array of beaches, great for kids"

Great variety of beaches, both exposed surf beaches, more protected surf beaches and bay beaches all on one small area. Great for surfing, swimming, fishing, snorkelling and great cliff walks. All in all a wonderful place only 90 mins from city and 75 minutes from the Peninsula.
Pros
  • Beautiful beaches
  • Cliff walks
  • Distance from Melbourne

KathyC8 I think Cape Paterson must be Gippsland's best-kept secret. It has an enviable location, slightly off the beaten track but really close to Wonthaggi, which offers a good range of facilities and amenities. Cape Paterson's beaches and walks are fantastic - you can walk for miles along the beach at low tide - and it has a large enough population of permanent residents to give the village a sense of community. There's plenty of activities to keep children of all ages occupied, both on and off the beach....love that there's a tennis court and level, paved roads in the area perfect for cycling.
