"Great Place to Live"

Carlton is a fantastic suburb situated in the St. George precinct, south of the CBD. It offers the complete lifestyle with cafes, parks, highly recommended schools, train station ( approximately 25 minutes to the city), a selection of shops and dining options and centrally positioned to the city, beaches and the airport.

Couple all of this with a safe, family friendly area and it's own Rugby League team, the St. George/ Illawarra Dragons, Carlton is a great place to live or invest.

"A quiet, safe suburb"

Carlton is a nice little suburb with a train station and a few shops. Nearby Kogarah and Hurstville are within easy reach for more shopping. Overall, a safe suburb and about a 20-25 minute drive/train to the city.

"Nice quiet little suburb"

I've lived in Caringbah for a long time and now I've lived in Carlton for over 2 years. Caringbah was nice but too far from the city via transport, the trains from Carlton are great (25 min to Town Hall) but they arrive every 30 min in off peak so I have to work around that (that was the same for Caringbah, so no loss there). I live alone so safety was important and Carlton feels quite safe, I haven't heard of anything bad happening here.I live near the train line but I actually don't hear it a lot, so its nice and quiet. My neighbours are a friendly bunch so I feel even safer!

Carlton doesn't have a whole lot in terms of anything (except a gym and some decent restaurants on the Railway Pde side, especially the Japanese place!), but Kogarah and Hurstville are 5 minutes away for all my shopping and entertainment needs.

The suburb itself is quieter on the Carlton Pde side, with more parks and leafier, although people still prefer the Railway Pde side (not sure why). Lots of families, old people and young couples live around here, so there aren't too many ruffians living about!

I've been very happy here, so what more can I say :). Kogarah would be better to get more trains, but it is more expensive. I think Carlton is a wonderful choice as it is still "affordable".
