"Great Country Hospitality"

Chiltern is a vibrant local community mixing daily life with tourist visits. There are two great schools to chose from and plenty of sporting clubs & social groups to get involved with. Chiltern has great connections to just about everywhere and is within half an hour of major centres such as Albury/Wodonga, Wangaratta and also, Beechworth and Rutherglen.

Chiltern has many sporting activities including golf, tennis, football, cricket, netball, lawn bowling, and a swimming pool.

Chiltern is a fascinating historic village, built upon the solid values of its mining heritage. It’s distinguished by carefully preserved streetscapes with historic brick buildings and wooden verandahs.

The historical attractions tell the story of our early pioneers; their struggles and their joys shared by a community with the pioneer vision to become what Chiltern is today – a peaceful, country town nestling in the hills of the spectacular surrounding National Parkland.

The Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park surrounds the town and is a major drawcard for bird watchers and wild flower enthuasists. All in all, a great place to live!
