I love Clayfield. It is so convenient to the city and airport. There is plenty of lovely walks - up Hamilton Hill and down to the river. It is very safe and beautiful. I wish though that there were a few fun younger couples around.

"Snob hill"

I lived in my families home in Apex street clayfield for the past two years. Never in my life have I encountered a more pretentious group of individuals. Self importance and materialism dominates the character of people. It's more important to drive a European car and keep up with the Jones' than to be a real person who is down to earth. Most of the people here stick their noses up in the air even though they have little or no education and basic understanding of the real world. The families come from money but they have more ass than class that's for sure.
I can't recall having an intelligent conversation with any of my neighbors or anyone living locally.
Overall, completely over rated area to live and full of pretentious snobs driving ridiculous size 4wd's.

"Love Bonney Av in Clayfield"

I live in Bonney Av, very close to the rail station. The suburb is peaceful and enjoyable. I love its proximity to the City as I study engineering at UTS. I work in South Brisbane, which takes me less than 30 mins to get to work. I find people friendly and welcoming. Love Nundah cafes & the local library.

"No so Friendly!!!"

Having just moved to Clayfield I was expecting an open a warm welcome from residents, this did not occur, as i have tanned skin I have found the ladies who lunch gave me the cold shoulder. As my husband is away on business often and my children starting a local private school, I was expecting a relax and welcoming atmosphere coming from Elisabeth Bay in Sydney where all are welcome. I have found this suburb not so welcoming and not so sunny. I also not so fond of the drug addicts roaming the avenues. Due to this i have requested sale of our property. We are now relocating to the Sunshine coast where people are real and everyones welcome. I guess i will fit in on the coast with my tanned skin.

"One of Brisbane's Best"

Clayfield is a great suburb to live in and it is very handy to everything. There is a mix of housing and it ranges from several pockets of very expensive houses through to older style quite affordable units. I would highly recommend Clayfield as a great suburb to live in.

"Beautiful homes, great schools and 5kms from CBD"

Clayfield is so close to the CBD yet it has retained so many magnificent Queenslanders. With some of Brisbane's best schools within walking distance and great public transport by way of bus and train, Clayfield is a wonderful family suburb. It has a number of excellent restaurants and cafes as well as beautiful Oriel Park. Its wide leafy streets are character filled as one of Brisbane's oldest suburbs.

"One of Brisbanes premium suburbs"

For professionals and families it is ideally located 1/2 way between the city and the airport. Only 5 minutes drive to the Brisbane Royal Hospital, Portside, Racecourse Road, the restaurants and shopping of Fortitude Valley. The majority of Brisbanes private schools are in and around this suburb. Excellent public transport and neighbouring Brisbane's 2 biggest urban renewal projects at Bowen Hills and Newstead.
