"Great leafy suburb!"

We love living in highside Corinda, plenty of great walking paths and a well maintained dog park. We are close to public transport and within walking distance to one of Brisbane's most affluent schools, St Aidans. Prima Vera is great for breakfast and we look forward to future gentrification and growth of the cafe culture!

"A Green, Leafy and Quiet Suburb close to the Brisbane CBD"

Offers luxury class living in high side Corinda along the river (west). Shops and restaurants are lively during day and night. I recommend this suburb for those that like to escape the urban feel for a green, leafy feel yet so close to the CBD.

"Awesome community spirit and a great place to live"

Corinda is a well established residential area, with a commercial area along Oxley Road, and an industrial area in the north-east.

Settlement of the area dates from the 1850s, with land used mainly for grazing. There is still some acreage blocks located towards the end of Blackheath Rd and Cliveden Rd with up to 2.5 acres of land. Corinda is a diverse suburb, with high density areas located close to the train station supported by units and town houses being a major contrast to the large acreage blocks.

Corinda has an established business district which includes a Coles and many thriving small businesses and restaurants, located near the train line on Oxley Rd. There are entry level units from $250,000 to the more prestigious houses located on Dewar Tce & Francis St for as high as $3,000,000.

Over the last 10 years, the area has seen substantial growth in property values. With median house prices jumping 260% over that time span growing from $260,000 in 2002 up to $590,000 today.

Major features of the area include top schools (St Aidans Anglican Girls School, St Josephs Catholic Primary School, Corinda High School, Corinda Primary), Parks (Dunlop Park, Nosworthy Park, Benarrawa Park, Francis Lookout) St Aidans Sportsfield, Corinda Medical Centre, Corinda Horse and Pony Club, Public Swimming Pool, Carrington Boat club and Hopetoun Aged Care.

My Tip:

- Contact Bruno (3379 2000) at Cafe Primavera on Oxley Rd for a great coffee and food from breakfast through until dinner. www.caffeprimavera.com.au
- Want to quench your thirst? Head to O’Tooles Tavern on Oxley Rd for a cold beer or wine.

"A great place to live!"

I was brought up in Corinda and have lived in and around Corinda most of my life. Many things have changed since I was a kid.
My state school has moved down the hill; Hopetoun aged care was built and is now demolished!! (I remember a big old Queenslander on the site that was home for about a dozen older men) - a new aged care facility is now being built on the same site; the maternity hospital in Collins Street where 3 of my children were born is now gone; the Corinda fire station is no longer; and the Dunlop Park Pool was built - yes, I am that old!!
Lots has changed but in many ways nothing has changed. Corinda still has the wonderful family community attitude. A fantastic place for children to grow up, with great rail and bus services and great schools.

We have lived in Corinda for about 30 years and will be here for many years to come. It is a well established treed suburb which is quiet, friendly and safe. As well, there is quick access to the city via the rail network. It offers good local schools and the convenience of a variety of shopping venues with lots of parking. You really don't need more than one car when living here, as just about everything is within easy walking distance. The affordability of housing is also a big plus compared with nearby suburbs which are just a little closer to the city. Overall, it's a very liveable suburb and we just love it!

"Its a safe well located neighbourhood."

I have lived in Corinda for two years. There are railstation, public bus,Suncorp bank,Supermarket,Bakery,Medical centre, chemist, a library, post office, physiotherapist all near by.It takes 17 mins to the city from Corinda by train. The side streets are beautiful and leafy. There are good schools in Corinda,Chelmer,Sherwood and nearby areas. There is a public swimming pool. There is an excellent Indian grocery shop at the very end of Leybourne street which is in Chelmer, 7 mins drive from Corinda. There is a very good car mechanic called Corinda mechanics. The owner Paul is honest and does excellent job for mechanical repair of cars.Oxley is very closy by which means shops like Harvey Norman,Mc donalds,Amart and Bunnings are 10 minutes drive. There are 3 liquor shops around. One in Crodinda and two in Oxley.Thereis one tab and few resturants in Corinda.I find it very liveable, multi cultural and well established place. Its a great area to live and bring up family.
