"Wonderful inner city suburb living!"

We moved here a year ago from Melbourne. Absolutely love it. It's walking distance to a great park, botanical garden, the sea and the city amenities. Although it lacks dining options, it's not short of great cafes. The lovely, wide tree lined streets with gorgeous, well kept heritage houses are a feast for the eyes. It's spacious, not claustrophobic like other inner city suburbs. Great for walking dogs. Friendly neighbourhood. It offers some specialty type shopping options.

"Brilliant inner city living, wide streets, lots of green spaces and gorgeous homes"

Perfect location for anybody who works in Geelong CBD or commutes to Melbourne. I have done both and love how accessible east geelong is to transport. There is south geelong station a stone throw away from where we currently live. Great bike paths, so I ride to work in town. Great family feel to the suburb, quiet area and well kept homes and front gardens. There is lots of street and home pride in East Geelong. I would confidently say that it is the most plesant suburb I have lived in within Victoria. Its not the easiest suburb to buy into because it has become very popular over the past few years. I have a feeling it will continue on that trend. Many people are now buying older homes and renovating them too. Don't think we will be moving any time soon.

"The best place in Geelong"

Just walk the streets yourself and you will see how well kept homes are, how unique the homes are and how friendly the neighbours are. Our family moved to Geelong from Melbourne and were very impressed with this quaint suburb. Beautiful, clean, gorgeous homes & community pride.

"Residential suburb on the city fringe"

A residential suburb with a population of almost 4,000 people, East Geelong sits just outside of Geelong city centre and is therefore a great location for professionals but is also suited to families. Bordered by Corio Bay, Geelong, Newcomb, South Geelong, Breakwater and Whittington, East Geelong boasts an Aussie Rules football team and a golf club to keep sports enthusiasts entertained. Home to the Geelong Botanical Gardens, East Geelong has an average property price of $210,000.

GarethR This sounds like a robot! Looks like you have never lived in this area. You probably just got this off the City fo Greater Geelong's suburb profile. Not helpful at all and way off - Average price is no where near 210k!!

Dunloemanor
Dunloemanor Nowadays the average price in the Inner East areas, say bordering Lomond Tce, Humble St, Myers St, Walter St and Garden St up to the roundabout, you'd be looking towards $400K for the standard house. Recently an unrenovated house in Connor St sold for $720K, although on a substantial block, Connor St being only a short distance to the CBD.

The increasing gentrification and the now excellent Garden St/Ormond Rd shopping precinct too is adding greatly to the desireability of East Geelong as well, it's come a long way in the last 10-15 years.

"Fantastic inner-city living"

My husband and I recently bought a 2-bedroom apartment in East Geelong as an investment property. We love the fact that East Geelong seems like a quiet neighbourhood with wide, tree-lined streets. Richmond Reserve and South Geelong train station are just around the corner, while Geelong Racecourse/Showgrounds, East Geelong Golf Club, Skilled Stadium, Botanic Gardens, the popular Eastern Beach, a handful of local primary schools, Geelong Hospital, and Geelong CBD are all less than 5 minutes away.

It's definitely fantastic inner-city living and great value for money.
