Are there really that many barking dogs?

I'm wondering if there are really that many barking dogs spoiling Eltham? Wanting proper peace and quiet and a few threads here have suggested there could be a barking dog problem... Any insight would be gratefully received.

yeah awful, depends on where you are really but sooner or later it will happen to all of us. Those people work on building sites rent temporarily and brought in the barkers. Workmen's presence also rile up quiet local dogs. You have bad and good days but never ending.

ethanc I think people need to fit a suburb. If they prefer to be bogans with loud ute and stupid music, stick to the bogan suburbs with people like them. Leave us alone where we enjoy quietness and mindfulness. I was walking my dogs the other day in the park and guess what? Broken bottles. There were broken glass everywhere. Now the local hotel wants to increase the time it can serve alcohol. The local cafe wants to start serving alcohol. Stop this indulgence in alcohol. I've been to Germany and Italy and yes, people drink beer and wine and enjoy a good time. However, there is no binge drinking issue like we are facing here. Many years ago, the crime rate was high and they stop all the alcohol. Now they want to bring it back. Do we not learn anything?

Yes. In the last 2 years, there has been increased in barking dogs and night prowling cats. The new residents coming into Eltham are not environmentally conscious nor animal friendly. They let their cats prowl at night, killing off birds/geckos/lizards etc. This is a huge problem.
