"Clean, Green and Convenient"

Fairfield is a great suburb for young professionals who want the convenience of public transport to the CBD. Most homes and apartments in the suburb are within walking distance to the 2 train stations and major bus routes. There are several areas to take your dogs including parks and the Corso. Fairfield benefits from having a great shopping centre at Fairfield Gardens, and many places to grab a coffee. I would heavily recommend trying a coffee and breakfast at Slinkys Espresso. Fairfield is also a great area for students, given its close proximity to the Green Bridge taking you to University of Queensland, St Lucia.

"Top suburb to live"

Fairfield is a great suburb in South Brisbane, being so close to the CBD, Uni's, PA hospital and Brisbane River. Public transport is good with plenty of parks and activities for the little ones. The airport is easy to access via the Clem 7 and Airport link tunnels.

Shopping: Fairfield Gardens shopping centre offers a range of shops, a large Coles, bakery's, banks and the public library with free wifi access.

Eating out: There are a number of restaurants and café's in Fairfield or close by, I'd recommend Ribbets for the best ribs in town (located @ 167 Annerley Road) Slinky Espresso (located @ 190 Fairfield Road, corner of Ashby Street) best breakfast and coffee in Fairfield or you have Anesis close by in Yeronga for breakfast and a good coffee (located @ 82 Hyde Rd) Daily Sushi in the Fairfield Gardens shopping centre or Sushi Too next to Slinky Espresso and the Fish Kitchen for the best fish'n'chips in town (located @ 220 Annerley Road)

Pub - The Junction (Muddy Farmer) located on Annerley Road.

Overall a top suburb to live.

Mark Diamond I would also recommend "Slinky Espresso" for being the best breakfast and lunch coffee shop in the Fairfield area. My colleagues and have been there a few times and have never been disappointed in our coffees or meals. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

"Great suburb so close to the city!"

Fairfield is a fabulous suburb. My husband and I have lived here for nearly 20 years. There's lots of beautiful parks and greenery, a great little local shopping centre that houses Coles and other shops and a very strong community spirit.

With a range of housing options, schools and sporting facilities, Fairfield has been a great place to live when we were in our 20's - close to the city to go out. Great in our 30's when we were renovating and starting a family (lots of parks for those walks with the pram) and now that we're in our 40's and our children are in school it gives us some great options. State schools, private primary schools and proximity to high schools. University is just over the green bridge and we're close to the PA & Mater Hospital.

The best part is the community spirit and the friendships made. We're big fans and will be staying here for a very long time!

"Quiet suburb 4km from the city"

Beautiful riverside suburb with lots of parks, really good public transport system, recreational facilities, shopping centre and great location for those working at the hospitals or University. Fairfield is diverse in its housing with an eclectic mix of entry level properties through to riverfront mansions. A very tightly held suburb with low turnover, I know many people living in and loving Fairfield. Great place to bring up a family or buy your first home.

"Riverside suburb"

A lovely suburb that is closed to the city and by the river. Flooding can be a serious issue in some parts.

"Fantastic quiet suburb close to CBD"

Fairfield is a little undiscovered gem in Brisbane's inner south. Only a short trip to the CBD (with excellent bus and train links) its also close to other big employers - the Mater hopsitals, the PA hospital and the University of Queensland. Because Fairfield and Yeronga are nestled in a loop of the river, there's no through traffic - only local. Kids play on the streets etc. There are loads and loads of parks, playgrounds and sporting fields (soccer, cricket and Aussie Rules). Finally, the local shopping centre - Fairfield Gardens- is clean and inviting with a nice Coles and some good specialty shops, and an excellent local library.

noisycoaltrains
noisycoaltrains Fairfield is a great place to live if you are over 60, no kids, don't want to eat out, and want to have everything close at 6pm. Fairfield Gardens lack a good coffee shop, a nursery, some vibrancy and a name clothes outlet ie Jeans West like there was when it first opened. 95 out of 100? No way - more like an 80% suburb, and I have lived there for 75% of my life > 30 years.
