"Fairfield is thriving"

If i was to describe fairfield in one word it would be 'potential'. Suprisingly it has one of the largest CBD areas in sydney although it lacks the volume of commercial and retail space you would find in parramatta and chatswood due to lack of corporate investments and major businesses being enticed into the CBD. This is possibly due to lack of ambitious planning from the backwards fairfield city council and the minor ethnic and social economic disadvantages which do affect the suburb and surrounding suburbs! Despite this new developments are taking shape in the cbd with many new high density residential apartments. Although its not as progressive as it could be it has sparked a rejuvernation of the fairfield city center which should please average incomer buyers who want a more cosmopolitian city vibe as the high rise units are quite affordable. If your considering living in fairfield and want the perfect package choose wisely as it is a very deceiving suburb. Housing on the edges of fairfields cbd especially beyond barbara st and hamilton roads on the western side can be a little neglected. This problem also seems to be prevelant around the polding, smart and ware st areas north of the CBD. Even though there are nice californian bungalows and federation style homes in these parts there are unfortunatley a fair few new ugly duplexs/ triplexs and ugly mcmansions being developed. The local council needs to stop this before it ruins the appeal of the suburb. Perhaps the fairfield mayor should let someone from parramatta council advice him on how to create a better looking suburb! Even smaller and neighbouring holroyd council is more relevant and ambitious!! However on the upside anywhere from the cbd over to the south side towards fairfield park is more pleasant and more well kept! There is a more leafy and mainted aspect that the rest of fairfield lacks. In my opinion this is where unique quality boutique style and upscale high rise developments should be built. Nearby fairfield park has the potential to feel more intergrated with the CBD and create a new buzz and lifestyle for people looking to live here! With fairfield RSL and the lesuire center all within this area it has the opportunity to also take advantage of being an entertainment area for fairfield both day and night! So overall as a whole, fairfield is a decent suburb. Its major problem.is fairfield councils lack of vision for the suburb! It has a large business district with all the services you need from retail, medical and all general community services! It is under utilised compared to liverpool or parramatta which is a shame though hopefully on going developments will change its 'potential' dominance. The area is also well serviced with transport and like any other suburb has schools for locals. Patrician brothers college is the areas most prominent aswell as rosary girls. Coincidently both these schools are south of the city center. The horsley drive has direct access to all of sydney's west major routes! The suburb is also unique that it has a vast area of parkland and waterways in short proximety of the fairfield cbd!

"One of the best south west Sydney suburbs; why live any further west of Fairfield?"

Fairfield is centrally located considering it's only 15 minutes from Parramatta, 2 minutes from Cabramatta and only 30 minutes from the City.

Looking at house prices, Fairfield is affordable and really does have promise for future growth. Considering suburbs further west like Penrith, Blacktown, Prestons, etc, that are over an hour or so away from the City have the same or higher price values than Fairfield it's a sign Fairfield is and will be on the up.

Don't be fooled by some of the stigma people say about Fairfield being dangerous; because really would you be hanging around any railway station at 1am at night?

I say visit Fairfield and make your own decision, you'll realise it's a nice family friendly area and right next door to booming suburbs such as Granville, Merrylands, Cabramatta, etc.

"A place with promise."

Nice central location. Good parking, schools, shopping. Affordable real estate. If you had told me 8 years ago that I'd still be living in Fairfield, I would have been in disbelief. Frankly, it was nowhere near the top of my 'desirability' list back then not to mention its rundown facade. Fast forward 8 years and there have been many significant improvements to both the roads, infrastructure and housing. Real estate values have risen but its still affordable and it's leafy and quiet (at least in my little corner of Fairfield). The Horsley Drive, Woodville Road and the Hume Hghwy are all within easy access. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars out of 5.

"Central Location, Affordable and Good Investment for the Future"

I believe Fairfield is a good area, the amenities, schools, parks, etc are great. Fairfield is a fairly central location, only 25kms drive to the city.
Housing is affordable and is on the up, especially when considering neigbouring areas such as Guildford, Merrylands, Granville, Cabrammatta, etc which have shot up in value.
I feel safe in Fairfield and believe growing infrastructure and support in the area will continue to provide greater demand in Fairfield.

"Multicultural living here"

Fairfield is located in the southwest of Sydney. It is a very multi-cultural city that is well serviced by both buses and train. In recent years, there has been a lot of development happening around this area. More and more residential units are replacing houses to meet the demand of the city's population growth.

There are many Asian restaurants, cafes and shops around the area. There is even a mall that is tucked away in Fairfield. Products here are really cheap as the community is not that affluent. There are also several schools, places of worship and an RSL for your entertainment needs here. This RSL often puts up quality live entertainment for the locals. It is a very convenient and cost effective suburb to live in for sure.
