"What a safe retirement little town"

have lived here for over 8 years now ,and found it to be very friendly , crime safe and very quite tonw to live in , it is only 38 klm from the main shopping town of Gympie , 1.2 hours to the great town of hervey bay , and best of all , only 40 minutes to tin can bay (great fishing spot on the sandy straits, any one looking for a crime free ,quite safe town ,could not go past GLENWOOD 4570, ,
Pros
  • 30 minutes to Maryborough or Gympie
  • A handy location, 1hour to Hervey Bay or Noosa
  • good prices and some decent houses still available
  • have free gym units out-side the hall for free use including a great B/Q,
Cons
  • bruce hwy, is in great condition

"Small town"

A small town About half way between Maryborough and Gympie on the Bruce Highway, although with a population of around 1260(2011 census) and mostly acreage lots, it has a quiet rural feel about it.
Pros
  • A handy location, 1hour to Hervey Bay or Noosa
  • 30 minutes to Maryborough or Gympie
  • good prices and some decent houses still available
Cons
  • Bruce highway is in bad condition
  • Not a lot of services here, local IGA but overpriced.

waynel
waynel No, too far from the coast. I live at Glenwood and while I love the Fraser/Cooloola coasts, I'm quite happy to drive home through the state forest to escape the sandies. Often a bit cooler and less muggy than the coast, too.
