"An awesome place to live!"

Hackham West had a bad rep for years but as like Hallett cove and other places back in the day has now improved and is a great place to live. 5 min to the beach, 2 min to colonnades, close to public transport, Train station, Schools. Awesome spot in my opinion and a great investment.
Pros

  • Close To Regional Colonnades Shopping and Train
  • High Number Of Local Schools

"The area has appeal"

Very affordable housing especially for the first time buyer and investor. Good numbers of local schools, close to Noarlunga Centre and Colonnades Shopping Centre, local buses often feeding to the local bus/train interchange and with the duplication of the Southern Expressway AND the electrification of the train line in 2014 Hackham West should not be overlooked. Generally a quiet area and the crime rate is not as high as some more affluent areas

"Happy Hackham West"

Hackham West has a good variety of property, with prices starting from around $170,000 through to $330,000 for a newer large family home. With prices in this range it makes for a ideal place to buy for first home buyers and first time investors. Only moments to the updated Colonnades Shopping Centre, a great selection of high quality schools, kindergarten and child care facilities, the Southern Exrpessway makes a quick trip to McLaren Vale with 43 minute trip into the city centre, and of course a short 11 minute trip to our fabulous southern beaches.

"Bit of a rough area"

I grew up here. It is a okay area. Not the best by far but affordable. It has a mix of owners, renters and housing trust. I attended the primary school and I loved it there. So many lovely teachers when i attended. If you are thinking about living here i would reccomened having a dog or good security system. Made quite a lot of long life friends here. There are lots of kids here.

In being honest i should warn people that this area is known for drugs and crime how ever it does depend on the parts of hackham you live in and who you socialize with. I personally came out fine and dont touch any drugs and have known many people to do the same.

Close to Colonnades Shopping Centre and the beach. Short drive to Marion shopping centre, Flinders Medical and Flinders Uni. Close to the swimming centre and has a lot of public transport.

There is definately a mix of people who live here. This is lower income to middle class. I also would reccomend not going out alone at night and trying to have cars behind gates. There are quite a few dodgy people there.
Pros
  • close to most things

  • Higher crime rate
