"Ideal location, big blocks and reputation is out of date"

We were a bit worried about Koondoola's reputation when we first moved here. However we have found it a great place to live, our street is quiet and neighbours friendly. Location is perfect- 15 mins to beach & 20 mins to city. Sure there are a few rough looking houses but you get that in most suburbs in Perth. Very cheap for what you get!
Pros
  • Close to the beach
  • Close to the city
  • very large blocks/houses
Cons
  • Horrible public transport

"LOVE IT!"

Purchased a house here in 2012... Heard really bad reviews about the area but it was in our price range, so just went ahead. we LOVE it here.!!
Our neighbours and people along our road are all so lovely, surrounded by great options for private schooling, lots of bus stops and 10 mins to the train station.
A short drive and you are in the city or at the beach?!

Surrounded by great shopping options..

"Worst suburb in Perth - My idea"

I lived for a year in Koondoola and I did not enjoy it at all. So boring, not green, horrible public transport, lack of a propped shopping. Overall, I don't recommend it.
Pros
  • good for immigrants starting a new life - cheap
Cons
  • Horrible public transport
  • lots of different insects - even in the house
  • far from the city and the train.

"Not nice at all"

High crime rate. You got Mirrabooka on one side, then Balga on the other, so its not like your amongst nice suburbs. For areas such as Koondoola, Mirrabooka, Balga, Marangarro, Girawheen (all close together) i would recommend for someone looking to buy in these areas to drive around and have a look for themselves(especially at night) then you will get a real taste of what the suburb is all about. 99% of people would never return, i guarentee it. Plus, do some research online about the crime stats and whats going on in the suburb.
