I think the suburb would benefit from taking out all the arabic signs and that big pole of islam that is on a corner building near the station out. The suburb has a mosque so that is sufficient. The Canterbury-Bankstown council should look into that.
People from everywhere- there’s no ‘majority’ everyone seems to get along and accept each other. Apart from those mentioned above there’s also a fair few Islanders and Greek people. Used to be most Anglo people were older but I’m noticing more younger Anglo people are moving here too now
Although many people view Lakemba as mainly a Arabic populated area it is in fact a very varied populated suburb. Many of it's residents are overseas born with a significant number coming from Lebanon, Vietnam & China. It is quite a close-knit community as well as a very tolerant community with all religions & cultures showing each other respect for their differences.
