"Out of town, but close enough"

Lyndoch was a compromise for my husband and myself. He wanted country-a couple of acres for the kids, and I needed to be close to suburbia and the trappings it brings. Lyndoch is the perfect place for us. Still only 1/2 hour to TTP or Elizabeth for shopping. You can get to TTP the back way and have no traffic lights-fantastic!

Friendly atmoshphere, I have quickly met and made friends with many other locals. There are lots of families moving in with many children now around for mine to play with.

I live in a court and the kids ride their bikes to the neighbours to play, with me knowing all the houses on the way are safe and I know they will keep an eye out for my kids. We have a street party at least once a year to get together and catch up.

The Lyndoch Pub is great for a reasonably priced meal and friendly service. The local 'supermarket' is handy for last minute groceries, but Gawler and Tanunda are only 15mins or so away if you require more.

"Casual Country and Friendly People"

With the hustle and bustle left to Gawler and suburbs, Lyndoch is just far enough away to retain the laid back approach often associated with country towns.

Having all the ammenities on offer for your day to day needs, you only need to go to 'the big smoke' for the grocery shop or larger retail items.

There are alot of nicely maintained public parks and (still) large allotments on offer in Lyndoch.

With a primary school and kindy, the kids are well catered for too.

Either travel 20 minutes into the barossa or 20 minutes the other way to the northern suburbs for work opportunities.

With the newer sub-divisions of recent years, Lyndoch is fast becoming a child friendly and young family town at the southern tip of he barossa valley.

"The best spot in the Barossa"

In the Barossa Valley Lyndoch is one of the nicest towns you can end up in. There are two pubs worthwhile grabbing a bite to eat at, numerous wineries that have some great food including cafe Y which has some of the best food available anywhere in Adelaide.

Lyndoch has some wonderful older houses, some of which have been turned into B&B's and Lyndoch is the take off point for helicopter flights through the Barossa.

In my view this is the best town in the Barossa. It is closest to Adelaide and has some of the best wineries and places to eat. Lyndoch Bakery is well known for a reason.

However, Lyndoch's 'supermarket' is only small. There is a good chance you'll need to make the trip to Tanunda to get a few things you simply can't get in Lyndoch. The plus is its only 20 minutes down the road. The alternative is back to Gawler.

"The great spot for quiet country living in the Barossa"

Situated on the edge of the Barossa Valley, Lyndoch is a quiet country town with a relaxed atmosphere. The population is just 2,000, and whist the town has a few cellar doors and a fantastic bakery, it generally avoids the tourist hustle and bustle of some of the bigger towns.

There are some lovely old homes, as well as some more recent housing developments. The region is surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards and farming properties. The town has great sporting facilities too, with a large oval and tennis courts.

Just a 15 minute from the city of Gawler and all of its services, Lyndoch is a great spot for quiet country living but with all the services and facilities just a short drive away.
