"Just South East of the city big blocks big houses perfect little location"

Beautiful Brownhill Creek on its door step, excellent walking trails up behind Carrick Hill mountain biking is awsome in this aera. Zero traffic mainly residents except Carrick Hill drive can get moderate traffic people going up to the lookout and going on walks. Edinburgh Hotel just a stagger away, pint of Coopers and a schnitzel for $12. Brilliant beer garden and one of Adelaides finest wine cellars. Mercedes College walking distance, Scotch College adjoining suburb. Big blocks quality houses some with views to the city and ocean. Mitcham reserve beautiful, BBQ aera flowing during winter creek and kids playgrounds. Mitcham shopping center is excellent including cinema.
Pros
  • close to city, very little traffic, Edinburgh Hotel, Carrick Hill, Brown Hill Creek
Cons
  • none for me

"A great palce for a lot of people in a fabulous location"

Mitcham is an older well established area to the south of Adelaide. The old houses are beautiful and the streets are wonderful.
Unley road with its wealth of shops is close by and it’s not far from the city. There are also good quality local shops and Marion isn't too far away.
It is well serviced by public transport including the bus and train, a rarity in many areas. The main roads around here are reduced to a crawl in peak hour traffic but you'd be home already if you lived here.
There are a plenty of places to get out for a drink or a meal including the Edinburgh, the ever popular local pub.
Some of the houses can be a bit run down but if you can get one of those it’s a great area to be in.
Tree lined streets, close to the city and well serviced by public transport. If you can afford it Mitcham is a great place to be.

"A near city location that truly has it all"

Just a 20 minute drive to the CBD, Mitcham is a well-equipped suburb located almost at the end of Unley Road. Driving to the city can take much longer than 20 minutes in peak hour, due to the busy traffic and narrow lanes.

Mitcham has a number of schools nearby, both primary and secondary. Scotch College (a private co-educational school) and Walford (a private girls school) are both nearby.

The Mitcham Shopping Centre has undergone a huge facelift (following a devasting fire) over the past 3 years. Now offering a fantastic range of supermarkets, shops, a cinema complex, hair and beauty salons, banks and other services.

The region also has some lovely restaurants and good pubs. The Edinburgh, and its leafy beergarden, is something of an Adelaide institution. Perfect for long lunches in the sun.

Not surprisingly, house prices are high in the suburb, but for good reason.

nermal1 Lovely Part of town. It's about 10 to 15 minutes on the Train into and out of the city.I have been to the Cinema there and it's pretty nice.If what I have heard is true about Westfield Marion introducing Paid Parking if you exceed a certain time limit They will lose people to this little unknown gem.
