"One of the best places to live!"

Moonee Ponds is the best place in Melbourne to live...hands down! Everything is here, shopping, food, a cosmopolitan lifestyle, business services. Close to the beautiful Maribyrnong river and gorgeous Queens Park. A very trendy and stylish place to live, without all the bad traffic and angry attitudes that you get with this sort of living so close to the city! The best streets in Moonee Ponds...Ardmillan road or Park Street have the most beautiful homes and are known for being the most exclusive streets in the area. Love Love Moonee Ponds!

"My personal favourite!"

Often considered the cultural centre of Moonee Valley, the relatively small suburb of Moonee Ponds certainly has an incredible array of attractions to support its unending popularity. Quality period homes are found in virtually every street of Moonee Ponds generally ranging from late 19th century Victorians to early 1900s Federation / Edwardian homes and 1920s Californian Bungalows – offering a choice of compact single-fronts to expansive family homes. Individual block sizes however are generally much smaller than those in Essendon or Strathmore. Just about everything is within walking distance in Moonee Ponds including some of the jewels in the Moonee Valley crown – the spectacular lake, islands and gardens of Queens Park, the vibrant retail and café scene of Puckle Street and Moonee Ponds Central shopping precinct, Mount Alexander Road’s incredibly popular restaurant district, Maribyrnong Park / River, Moonee Valley Racecourse, Clocktower Centre and a number of fine public and private schools. Being only around 5-6 kilometres from the CBD, getting into town is quick and easy with a number of transport options to choose from including trains, trams, bus services and dedicated bicycle paths. A Citylink exit/entry makes a trip to airport and beyond quick and effortless.

"Best suburb in Melbourne and way underrated"

When we moved to VIC from QLD we had no ties to Melbourne and looked all over the city for the ideal suburb in which to buy and raise our growing family. We looked at the inner east and south of the city and found that the access to the city and traffic along the main roads was too prohibitive. We had visited the beautiful Poynton's nursery in Essendon/Moonee Ponds with friends and when we discovered Moonee Ponds it was like an amazing discovery; here was a suburb that had everything we were after: Every public transport option, parks, great shopping, gorgeous period houses, the river precinct, great schools and sporting facilities. We looked on a map and when a house came up for sale that was walking distance to all these things we bought it.

That was about 18 months ago and I can honestly say that Moonee Ponds and the surrounding area is the most fantastic place for families in Melbourne, you are close to the city but it feels like a destination in itself. It takes only a few minutes to get into the city, has a vibrant community with lots happening and is a convenient and pleasant place to live.

"Home to some fantastic features"

Ideally suited to professionals working in Melbourne's CBD as well as families, Moonee Ponds is a recognisable suburb based 7km from the city. Boasting the Moonee Valley racecourse, Queens Park and The Clocktower Centre, this delightful residential suburb houses over 12,000 residents. The town sits between Essendon, Brunswick West, Parkville, Aberfeldie, Ascot Vale and Meribyrnong, and has excellent public transport links, including buses, trams and trains. Moonee Ponds plays host to many shops, cafes, supermarkets and department stores as well as football teams, a river trail and a creek trail for nature enthusiasts.

"Moonee Ponds - City fringe location with exquisite heritage homes"

Living in Moonee Ponds is hard to beat for city fringe convienience and stunning heritage homes.

With leafy streetscapes and amazingly well maintained homes and gardens you are likely not to find anything that matches Moonee Ponds on the north or western inner city areas of Melbourne.

Moonee Ponds offered something that surrounding suburbs couldn't quite match in the distinction stakes too, it feels homely instantly. The pocket surrounding Park Street, Clarinda Rd, Derby Street and Ardmillian Rd presents the most exquisite and irresistible homes from Victorian terrace houses and through to sprawling Edwardian classics.

Highly recommended!
