"Ticks all the boxes and great value for money!"

I am so glad I bought a home in morayfield to raise the kids. The large established blocks of land close to schools made it a no brainer when it came time to decide which house to buy.
Our Neighbours are great! The most helpful and understanding people ive ever met.
We got everything we wanted and more from buying here, and paid 1/2 the price we would have closer to the city, and got double the size of land we would have if we built in a new estate.
45mins from Brisbane with easy access to the highway and train into the city, 30mins to the beach or rainforest, large retail district with everything you need at your fingertips.
We love living here. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful place within our small first homebuyer budget to raise the kids.
Pros
  • Easy highway access
  • Large blocks - Value for money
  • Great schools
  • Abbundant shops,businesses
  • major public/private hospital closeby
  • short drive to Bribie .Is. and S/Coast
Cons
  • Play spaces need upgrading
  • New housing estate land sizes are too small

"Nice Small City"

Morayfield is a small city in my eyes. It has a huge shopping complex with almost anything you could want and buy, Has several schools and plenty of places to eat out. Traffic is never to huge of a wait in less of road works of course. Plenty of parks, a 30min drive to the beach and the Sports club and High school is right next to the Morayfield train station. Trains run very frequently and so does the local bus. It an alright place to live and grow up!
Pros
  • Abbundant shops,businesses
  • Good and affordable constructions
  • good place to live - even for cheap
  • major public/private hospital closeby
  • short drive to Bribie .Is. and S/Coast
Cons
  • the older cheap rental/welfare area brings it down

leec6
leec6 morayfield is a dump, most people are ferel and rude . There are plenty of nutters and homicidal psychopaths around where i live, i can hear them at night. I cant wait to move...Its the worst suburb i have ever lived in. My neighbours are a bunch of idiots. There are a lot of rude people at the train station there as well.

"Nice Safe Place"

I found this a really safe place to live despite the fact that it is supposed to be a 'high crime' area. I had no issues with break ins, and no troublesome neighbors. The only mystery was with my cat who came home with a broken leg - don't know if someone broke it, hit her with a car, or what. But the cat was given expert attention by local vets.

"Down to Earth"

We like the area, been here 4 years.Love the peace and quiet.Street neighbours never a problem, respectful of privacy while friendly. The shopping and business options are better than most and constantly growing.Close to a lot of major yearly events so plenty happening. We live in Excelsior Park so have room to spread out,has good street appeal. On the down side, there's a low socio- economic overhang of caboolture suburbs with welfare recipients which brings bad elements, still it's better than Burpengary but if you stick to the acreage you won't find better value.Bus services through the acreage area is non existent.A lot of development happening, always a good thing.

"Close to everything..."

Morayfield boasts close proximity to beaches, parks, sporting facilities and an extensive range of retail outlets. Complete with some of the big retail chains as well as hundreds of small businesses. The area has transformed itself over the last 15 years from a thriving farming hub to a bustling city, still carrying that rural center feel to it. Well catered for in education requirements with at least 3 private schools, 3 state high schools and 5 state primary schools and a QUT tafe college.
A state of the art Police station, several medical centres and a well appointed modern hospital compliment the town to make this one of the most livible areas in Australia.

"sturdy place to live"

Just like most other towns, morayfield has its good spots and not so good spots, so stay in the good areas and its all good. Lived here for 3 yrs on both the east side and west side of morayfield, prefer the east, but never had any troubles with the community or hoons. The new developed areas are great for young families and is ever expanding, it is average livable place for the average income families. Has all the great shops, just needs a WOW!! Close to the sunshine coast and the city which is a seller if u work all over the shop.

"agree"

Minxiepinx I agree they are thick people, problem is they don't know any better they are just doing what there families have done. Good thing is, you and I know better and we just move on up and out. There is some families with money here but they don't live in the low socio-economic parts. It is a shame your son safety was at risk. The only reason I live here becuase I want a large piece of land. I just look at those dumbies and think I never want to be like that. I understand that you would not want to subject your son to this environment. The local Police need to more diligent in stopping the hoons and the local council needs to be more active in the town centre.

"A turd floating down-steam..."

I lived here for just under a year - couldn't make a whole year as it was that bad, so happily paid for the last months rental and moved into our new place in Burpengary as soon as we could.

I've seen reports of hoons, and it's true: didn't really matter what time of day or night, they were always around. My son (8 at the time) was threatened by a teenager with a knife at a play-park for God's sake - it wasn't an isolated incident, so what does that tell you?

I can see it was a nice area once, but with so much cheap housing around, all the dole-y's are lining up, just like they do at Centrelink, but this time it's for a house, not their government money they don't deserve and don't work for.

The best thing about the turd - sorry, town, is the shopping centre, but only because if you take a walk around there, you feel slim! There are a lot of large people around - I'm one myself but Moronfield takes the biscuit - and the cake - and eats it with a big dessert for afters. I'm not saying that large=lazy, but in the case of the people I see around that shopping centre, unfortunately it's true.

If you want to drag your kids up here, that's up to you, but after experiencing the schools, I wouldn't bother - maybe find a nice cheap, and hopefully quiet area and then send your kids to a nice school in a different area.

Caboolture Sports Club, along with some of the kids clubs are the best thing about the area, and it's the only reason I venture up that way.

grand6 We have lived here for the past 8yrs. The surrouding area is bushlike promoting the substantial activity of wildlife, regularly seeing koalas. We live at the end of a quiet street, that is very kid friendly and safe to live in as the neighbours all watch out for each other.

"Great place to live"

I have lived in Wimbledon Park Estate Morayfield for over three years and have found it to be a quiet and friendly area. There is reliable public transport and it's conveniently located between the city and the Sunshine Coast. Every conceivable shop and service you might need is within a 10 minute drive, and there are lots of schools to choose from, plus a university at Caboolture. It's a great place for families, retirees and commuters.

"This area is going down hill fast."

I have been staying in Morayfield for two years on and off due to work and and I agree with Rod that it's not a nice place. You need a good set of earplugs to drown out the hoons on a Friday and Saturday night and any night really, they don't work so are not fussy about what nights they go out. The decent residents are at the Mercy of the noisy ones, late night drinking sessions and barking dogs.
There is always plenty of rubbish lying around and a lot of sad looking streets and houses. The shopping may be pretty good but that doesn't make up for having to live in a suburb that's gone down the toilet. Sorry folks but that's what it's been like for me so don't bother saying I don't know what I am talking about, believe me... I DO.

"Morayfield is 30 mins from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Hell"

Living in the epicentre of Moronfield for the past 3.5 years, I have come to loathe this place deeply. I have been constantly abused and threaten by wandering drunks that take refuge in the poorly constructed playgrounds surrounded by dirty main roads. The constant hoons roaring up and down streets, accompanied by freight trains running through the night is unbearable. There is nothing nice in Morayfield, everything seems so lifeless, no breeze ever seems to flow through the town, it's always hot and muggy, and it's very disappointing to come home to after a hard days work.

I'd recommend Narangba as a better place to live, much nicer, friendlier community, lush flora and fauna, quiet and peaceful. Which is why we are moving there and leaving Morayfield as a distant memory and travel destination.
Arien
Arien You must be an animal or nature hater, I wouldn't advise for you personally to move to Narangba as there a many more ducks, possums and KOALA's to look out for... although I happen to love Narangba so you wouldn't like it anyway.

Rod
Rod You must be illiterate. Why would you assume I'm an animal/nature hater - I'm saying Narangba is a much nicer place and HAS nicer flora and fauna than Morayfield, which is why we've moved there.

minxiepinx Hi Rod. I completely agree with you - Moron-field is a crap-hole, and we're moving out as soon as we can - so glad we're only renting here and didn't buy.

I've only just come across your review, so my comments are probably out-dated, but I think Arien thought you wrote "constantly abused and threaten by wandering DUCKS" and not "DRUNKS" as you did write! I could be wrong, though.

Enjoy Narangba, I've heard many good things about that area.
