"Primarily a working suburb, conveniently located and surrounded by beauty"

Lived here for 12 months. A very convenient and safe suburb with a variety of options for travelling in and around the city. With McMahons Point walking distance (ferry), a bus route that is one stop over the harbour bridge and a train station, you really are spoiled for choice. Primarily a suburb packed with offices you will find the weekends extremely quiet in the centre of North Sydney however there are numerous options for eating out towards McMahons Point, Crows Nest and Milsons Point. Lots of well rated schools nearby and you are not far from St Leonards Royal North Shore Hospital. Nightlife at Greenwood plaza is popular on a Thursday night and Friday night is usually packed full of business professionals in most bars/clubs. Cost of living is actually quite low if you own a property or find a good rental. Aldi is located in the centre and transport costs are low to get around the city.

"Better than the CBD"

It's like a mini CBD except with more green, less crowds, more fresh air and better food.
Love it!

"Sleeper suburb!"

Many people think of North Sydney as the CBD alone, but the CBD is surrounded by some of the best living in Sydney. If you work in the city you are spoilt for choice when it comes to transport. Trains and buses are constant. On a nice day walk to work across our great bridge. Stroll to nearby restaurants at Blues Point Road, Crows Nest or Neutral Bay, or stay in North Sydney itself with a great variety of restaurants and good pubs. Everything is walking distance in this suburb. There are great shops at Greenwood Plaza, Walker Street, Neutral Bay or Crows Nest for all your grocery needs or late night requirements.

Visit the great markets near the North Sydney council on Friday nights and Saturdays. Parks are plentiful with North Sydney oval and Cammeray park perfect for kids and families, or take a leisurely stroll to the harbour. Until living here, I never appreciated just how fantastic this suburb is! I simply love it and can't think of living any where else. Totally converted, and love the fantastic lifestyle this suburb offers.

"A great place to live for young professionals"

If you work in North Sydney or even in Sydney, North Sydney is a fantastic place to be. It is well connected by public transport - both buses and trains service this suburb. It is also a quick ten minutes' bus ride into the city. Most people who live on North Sydney find that there is plenty to do in North Sydney and you do not really need to go into the city.

North Sydney is home to many corporations and large organisations. It is the second largest business district in the whole of Sydney. There are malls, boutiques, shops, plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs to cater for everyone's needs. This convenience does come with a price and you can expect to pay top dollars in rent in North Sydney. Despite the exorbitant prices, it has not deterred demand and people are often on waitlists for rental apartments in North Sydney.

North Sydney is recommended if you like the convenience of being close to work and do not mind the daily hustle and bustle of this high energy city.
