"Friendly Family Suburb"

What a great suburb! Close to the city (about 15 mins) and close to the beach (about 10 mins to Glenelg) its perfectly positioned. It has Anzac Hwy running through it going from the bay to the city, making public transport accessible and easy. Marion Rd runs through from Lockleys/Torrensville through to Main South Road, making it easy to get to large retailers and trades people.

The homes are tidy and well maintained, mostly retirees. Lots of young families looking to buy in the area to renovate and/or subdivide. Good quality schools are in the local area, as are day care and child care centers.

House prices are going to take off in Plympton in the future due to its great location. Its a gold mine for property.

Plympton has parks for dogs and children, restaurants, many shops etc etc etc. Quiet and safe. Near the beach. Its perfect

"Never lose value between the city and the beach"

Between the city and the beach is a perfect location and Anzac Highway takes you directly to both. Highway Hotel is the local pub and got voted the best in SA. Lots of parks nearby and bike track runs through Plympton which goes from the city to the beach. Different types of public transport too (tram and bus).

"Between the City and the Bay, perfect location"

Plympton is a 'close-to-city' suburb and is located in a perfect position. A few short minutes to either Glenelg or the city is a clear advantage of living here, Anzac Hwy passes through the suburb and is one of Adelaide's most beautiful major roads, lined with palm trees and very green most of the year. Plympton is serviced by a number of major bank outlets on the corner of Marion Rd/Anzac Hwy as well as a Coles, newsagency and pharmacy.

Two minutes away you can find Kurralta Park and a well presented shopping area (Centro Kurralta) with a Coles, Kmart and numerous other shops and food outlets, there is also a medical centre. The Highway Inn is the main place for entertainment/dining in Plympton and is one of Adelaide's best pubs, it was recently rennovated and is a very attractive and popular meeting place. Cafe Primo is located just oppossite the Hwy Inn and is also an attractive restaurant. Medical services are also in very close vicinity.

Many of Plympton's houses date from the 1920s - 1950s and there are many well rennovated homes. Housing prices in Plympton can be affordable depending on the size of the house, however prices have risen in recent years. It is a reasonably leafy suburb with a number of parks and schools. Public transport serves the suburb well with a number of major bus lines to the City, Glenelg, Marion, Golden Grove available. Plympton is fortunate enough to have Adelaide's only tram line run through the suburb, offering services to Glenelg, the City and Entertainment Centre.

If you live directily on Anzac Hwy in Plympton, as one would assume, traffic noice may be a concern, however traffic is reasonably quiet during the day and night and should not be a major problem, especially in other areas of Plympton.

Plympton offers its residents a peaceful area close to the city and the beach. Other attractions one would find in Adeladie and Glenelg are a few short minutes away by car. Local attractions are also very good, a planned shopping centre and elegant apartment complex is to be built behind the Hwy Inn in a few years, definetley boosting Plymptons current attractivness as a comfortable suburb to live in.

"Ready for revitalising"

Between the city and the surf this is a great spot for those that like a bit of both worlds. There are a number of older houses in the area which makes it appealing for those that like a bit of history. Good sized blocks and far enough out of the city to make it affordable for a lot of people.
There are still a number of older people in the area which gives it a nice friednly and safe feeling.
It's easy to get into the city and down to the bay either by car or public transport, tram or bus. A lot of the buses through here are limited stop making the trip into the city very quick
There are plenty of shops near by making it easy to get what you need and the bay and the city aren't far away for whatever isn't close by. Marion isn't far either.
It is very flat around Plympton and there aren't a lot of established trees lining the streets so in the summer it can feel a bit hot.
A great spot for families.

"Underrated, great value for money!"

About 5km SW of the Adelaide CBD. Not what you'd call 'trendy' (it's actually quite daggy in parts) but it's very good value for money. Excellent dining can be had from a number of restaurants, take-aways and other assorted eateries within a short distance - in particular, there are several excellent Indian restaurants and take-aways in the area. Very close to the City and quite close to quality dining and shopping strips like King William Rd and Unley Rd.

Overlooked by many people, Plympton property prices tend to reflect this. A good clean 3 bedroom house on a traditional sized block will set you back as little as high $300ks. There is an increasing number of brand new courtyard and villa homes, catering to singles and professionals. These start from mid $400ks. There are also a LOT of flats along Anzac Highway, these can be rented or purchased quite cheaply - a very basic 1 bedroom flat is only around $150k.

Transport is good. Bus services are frequent, and the Adelaide-Glenelg tramline also services Plympton.

People that live here tend to be either young singles & couples, or older residents with a few families in the mix as well. Very culturally diverse, and very friendly people that tend to look out for one another.

There's only one pub (The Highway Inn), but it's a good one.

Excellent sporting and recreation facilities, including a number of parks, Weigall Oval and the Adelaide-Glenelg linear park and bikeway.

The only bad thing about Plympton is that it's quite noisy at times, especially Anzac Highway on Friday and Saturday nights, mainly due to the unofficial motorsport activities. Sometimes these can spill over into side streets. If you're a bit further away from the Anzac Highway strip, or you're a heavy sleeper, you won't care. The pluses well outweigh the negatives.
