Dare I say it - but I just came back from Port Douglas and the best coffee was from The Coffee Club on the main stip. They do it piping hot as well, just the way I like it.

AJ, Coffee Club Port Douglas has some other pluses too - as well as the terrace, great for people watching, the interior is airconditioned, very much appreciated during the hot and humid summer months; service is friendly too; and I highly recommend the omelettes or eggs benny for brekkie!
Other good coffee places are Zinc Port Douglas, iced coffee is superb there, and comfy lounges, and Cafe Fresq, under the magnficent frangipani tree at the corner of Macrossan and Grant Streets.

Undoubtedly one of the best places for coffee is ‘The Little Larder’ which opened its doors this year (2103). The buzz has not left and you have to get in early for breakfast or lunch with their great menu, fabulous staff and convenient location in the heart of Macrossan St – great vibe and oh’ so clean and sparkling. Also deserving a mention is the aptly named ‘While-a-way’ Café and Bookstore – great for a chit-chat with friends or to relax with the latest publication from your favourite author. They cater for all ages with their fabulous selection of books – not to mention the tempting cakes and slices on offer. Not forgetting ‘Café Fresc’ on the corner of Macrossan and Grant Sts who also do a fabulous breakfast and lunch, and like ‘The Little Larder’ have a loyal following with their great menu, and their friendly owners Daniel and the bubbly little Irish lass Deb who serves your meal with a great smile and a joke. ‘Origin Café’ in Grant St is also very popular with not only locals, but visitors from Sydney and Melbourne as they roast their own coffee beans on site. They have recently employed a pastry chef as well so you can enjoy your coffee with a delectable slice, piece of cake or cookie. Great stop-off on-route to connecting with one of the great operators like Posiedon/Sailaway, Calypso/Aquarius taking you to the Outer Reef/Low Isles.
