Pymble
"Lack behind suburb remote from amenities"
Been to No. 20 Bridge Street, from Sydney Central by train, 22 km, and took over 30 minutes on the train with 15 stops. 850 meters walk from the train station, mostly on Pacific Hwy with non-stopped heavy traffic. Roads tricky, not good for walking. One bus route comes every 30 minutes during morning time. Need to walk steep down and up slopes unless travel by driving. Many many trees all around like some remote country side, and the Fire Station is on Pacific Highway, corner of Bridge Street. Some corporations had buildings on this very sloppy Bridge Street as well.

"Pymble becoming cool"
Pymble is getting a massive Bunnings store plus new cafe and shops. Pymble is determined to grow better than most suburbs this year.
Pymble is getting more expensive with people holding on to their properties and not selling for a long time so there is low stock.

"Nice but boring"
Pymble is a quiet, safe conservative area. It was desirable in the 1960's but has dropped down the rankings as it's not cool, interesting or unique. There's little to distinguish it from many other upper Nth Shore suburbs, but train access to the city is good.
It's very white, Anglo, and old fashioned. The politics reflect that, delivering the safest Liberal seat in NSW.
The real estate market confirms that. House prices have been falling behind the lower Nth shore and East for decades. It's full of nice, middle class families, looking for a safe, staid lifestyle.
If that's your thing then Pymble is for you.
Kids get out quickly one they reach university as the area is offers little for 20 and 30 somethings.
So the community skews heavily towards the elderly. The services and facilities move in unison to accommodate the increasingly elderly population, thereby exacerbating the suburbs profile. There are some nice aged care facilities and more being built.

"Upper North Shore"
Along the sides of the Pacific Highway at Pymble you will see retirement units, apartments and lots of trees. But just behind you will find mansions on very large blocks of land, with beautiful gardens. Pymble is a very desirable suburb for the well-heeled residents of Sydney, not the least because of its proximity to some exclusive private schools, most notably, Pymble Ladies College. Public transport to the city is via train on the North Shore Line.
