It is a low socioeconomic area with high crime and constant issues with community. I would advise, don't waste your money. My children have been the victims of neighbourhood bullies many times, it's not safe for kids.

I would say - depending on where in Riverview. Unfortunately the suburb suffers from some issues on the northern side of the Ipswich Motorway. There seems to be a little more antisocial behaviour, the meatworks and large transfer station is on that side so you get some pretty funky smells and there doesn't seem to be as many houseproud people. However, on the southern side of the motorway there is a lot of owner occupiers and most people who are renting appear to respectful of both the houses and their neighbours. I would consider a pretty safe suburb (wasn't always, but they have a very active neighbourhood watch movement which has been a great deterrent) More young families are moving in as there is a local state primary school as well as a private school. There is childcare, local gp/chemist, neighbourhood centre, great public transport and loads of parks. You are close to a big shopping centre. The southern side doesn't escape entirely from misbehaving people but I have lived in very affluent inner city suburbs that are far worse. If you are wanting to enter the housing market and not have a ridiculous mortgage, then Riverview is fantastic value, and great for families.
