Im a property manager and I run my own specialised property management agency in the Springfield Lakes area. I have to say if all rental people were 'bad' I would have left this industry a long time ago!! Most renters are just inbetween homes and will eventually move on to buy their own home. A lot of renters choose to rent as it means more disposable income in their pocket. These type of renters will probably maintain their homes better than you and I do and are often the best type of tenant for an investor.
The good news is, if the person living in your neighbouring property is a tenant, then its likely that if they are doing the wrong thing eventually they will be moved on - either forced or because they have out stayed their welcome.
Call Ipswich City Council (3810 6666) and they will give you a run down on what you will pay for the waste charges in this area, fire levy etc. Coming from oversea's I have no other area to compare SFL rates to.
