About Me

When Gordon Galletly swapped his farm shed for an office in Mackay CBD five years ago, it became one of the best moves that he’d ever made. Gordon has recently been appointed to the role of Rural Consultant at Ray White City. A role that he is clearly relishing as he explains, “Farming is in my veins, I was born and bred in Mackay and have been a canefarmer myself for most of my life.” Gordon’s experience in farming and his ability to relate to the unique challenges of the rural community has made him a valuable asset to the Ray White City branch. “I’ve definitely had strong feedback from clients that they appreciate dealing with someone who has worked on the land. Whether they are buying the property as a lifestyle choice or for their livelihood – clients value the advice and experience you bring to the professional relationship.” Gordon has an intimate knowledge of the regulations that govern rural property sales. “Being able to relate to the ups and downs faced by rural clients is beneficial to establishing a good connection and adds value to my role. I have bought and sold my own farms – so I view each sale as if I were standing in my client’s shoes.” His personal and empathetic approach combined with his unremitting professionalism bodes well for the future of the newly established rural division of Ray White City. “This branch appealed to me because of the size and strength of the rural division of Ray White on a state level. Ray White City has already established a strong and well regarded branch in the area of residential sales. The expansion into rural property sales was a natural progression.” Gordon is looking ahead to a bright 2010 and expects that the rural division will gain momentum over the next twelve months. “Strong sugar prices have created a good climate in the rural market. Many farmers have prices locked in and this will create interest among buyers over the next year.” Gordon still enjoys the semi-rural life from his farm at Glenella that he says, “has all the benefits of rural living with a close proximity to the city.” Gordon is sold on Mackay’s rural lifestyle and also manages to fit in some fishing and family time when he isn’t busy establishing himself in his new role.
