I came to realise that I needed a job which was non-ageist, not too physical and constantly challenging. It had to be performance based; where I could use my brains and creativity and I had to love it. Real Estate ticked all the boxes and I trained with the REIQ. The enthusiasm of the trainers, a father-in-law in real estate and my passion for people, property and research combined with a diverse work history to cement the path to my new career.
I leapt out of the gates, selling 9 properties in my first 3 months; 2 of them had been listed so long that they had cobwebs on them! But my biggest buzz was selling a property for 196.25% above market value; wasn’t my vendor pleased when I sold a $400K property for $785K. One of my prized possessions is the lap rug she hand-crotched for me.
Been told I have a tendency to call a spade a spade; I'm a raving perfectionist and a control freak. These character traits (flaws?) drive me to achieve. The extra research I do for every client (buying or selling) ensures that decisions made are profitable and based on latest facts.
Things that rock my boat include real estate, people watching, desktop publishing, new technology, alternative medicine and health practices, reading, music, fishing, DIY, woodwork, craft work, sewing, knitting and crotchet, experimental cooking, having good times with friends and hanging with my husband and our cats.
My principal goals focus on using everything I know and everything at my disposal to be THE BEST in my patch; to be THE real estate agent that people know they can trust and rely on for honesty, integrity and professional, efficient service; to provide accurate and up-to-date information and advice which leads to positive outcomes for my clients; to prove that not all real estate agents are the same; and to improve the reputation and standing of our industry in the eyes of the public, by demonstrating my values and ethics.
