Riddle has some great points! :) Lake Albert Public is a top school literally on the shores of Lake Albert. Great setting and great facilities. It's a feeder school to Kooringal High which is part-selective. If you're looking for the year 5 opportunity class, your children for when they're in year 4 can take a test to get into the opportunity class at Sturt Public School which will also feed them into Kooringal High. The Catholic and private schools seem pretty good across the board.
It really depends what you're after: bible-babbling schools or regular schools. You should really be more specific with questions like this. ;)
Wagga Wagga has bad kids at every school unfortunately. Although this can be said for almost every town/city when you think about it. Bad parenting (or complete lack of parenting) leads to bad children.
My advice? Avoid the schools in Tolland, Ashmont and Mt Austin. In general, suburbs where you can't leave your car for 5 minutes without returning to discover that your windows have been smashed in order to steal a 20c coin you left on the dash do NOT have the greatest kids attending their schools.
Which are the best schools to pick out of the remaining 30 or so? I would say Wagga Wagga Public School (Primary) and Wagga Wagga High School. I have a few friends of different ages who go to Wagga High and think it's good. One of my other friends sends his two daughters to Wagga Public - they enjoy school and don't have any complaints. I have also been to these two schools a couple of times before and liked the feel.
All of what I have said in this post is mainly based on STUDENTS and TEACHERS. I won't comment on school features etc. since I haven't been through each individual school in Wagga.
In the end it is up to you. Go and see a couple of the schools you are interested in and talk to the staff. Quite often you can tell a lot about what type of school it is just by having a chat with the principle and teachers.
