"A small rural city with a lot to offer."

Warragul is a town that has a lot to offer anyone from all walks of life.

I moved to Gippsland five years ago to work in Warragul I was told when I was moving that Warragul was a small county town however having worked and lived in places that you would describe as “Being out in the sticks” Warragul was certainly more than a county town I would class it more as a small rural city.

The key things to know about Warragul is that it has a growing population of around 14,500 people, it’s a quick 1hour drive to the Melbourne CBD or there is a VLINE service that also runs to Melbourne or to sale. It has a growing number of different industries and will soon have its own Kmart along with new and improved large scale Bunnings. (There is already a Bunnings it’s being upgrading)

There are a number of schools to choose from, there is plenty of work opportunities and the people are very community-minded. There are racing clubs, sporting venues, restaurants, movies, leisure centres, parks and plenty of trendy shops.

I would say that Warragul is a town that welcomes everyone so if you are looking for a country change then certainly consider Warragul

"Comfortable & Convenient"

A charming country town conveniently located just over an hour to Melbourne CBD via the M1 or public transport, Warragul and surrounds in the wider Gippsland and Baw Baw region offers a multitude of lifestyle advantages for all.

Having worked and lived around the area for upwards of 25 years, I am proud to have raised my two daughters in the area amongst a community-environment, at local schools and various sporting clubs over the years.

Our town has welcomed various professionals, families, first-home buyers and downsizers to the area, especially those wishing to escape the hustle-and-bustle of the city and rapidly growing regions looking for a country escape while still being connected to a community that provides all modern-day necessities and provides easy access for those needing to commute. 76% of residents are owner occupiers, with 24% being renters.

In Warragul there are many entertainment venues including: Lardner Park, Bowling Alley and Cinema, The Warragul Racetrack, Surrounding National Parks, The Warragul Golf Course, Town Libraries, Quality Restaurants and Cafes, Local Sporting Clubs and a redeveloped Leisure Centre, and more.

If you would like to know more about our great patch of Australia, please feel free to contact me on 0419 268 882 to learn more or to receive an area guide!

"Welcoming Warragul"

At the beginning of 2018, I traded in my ice skates for a pair of Havianas and found myself leaving Canada for the land down under, ready to start a life with my now fiancee who grew up here. I was expecting beaches and kangaroos everywhere, instead I found Warragul and the Gippsland region. I was taken back in a positive way by the friendly people, strong sense of community support, and beautiful rolling green hills as far as the eye can see.
Now in my job as a real estate sales professional, I get to meet more of these great community members every single day, and the more I plug into this town the more proud I am to call it my new home.
This is definitely a place I would be comfortable raising my future family, and it is exciting to see where the future of Warragul is heading. Many buyers are moving here from the city and Eastern suburbs for a number of reasons including a simpler life and better value for their dollar.
As someone with international perspective I can certainly say that Warragul is a great place to live!

"Growing country town that has it all!"

I have lived and worked in Warragul for many years now and I am proud to call this place my home.
I have seen the first hand the growth over the years, yet this beautiful Victorian town still maintains it's warm "small town" roots.
Warragul is great place to raise a family with quality education opportunities and plenty of park space to play.
One hour to the city, one hour to the snow, one hour to the beach...In the middle of it all!
One of the best parts of my job is helping new families make the move and establish their own roots here in Warragul.

"Good place to live with a young family"

Nice place to live with younger children but teens get bored very quickly. Dining could be better and parking is terrible during certain times of the day. Kinda stuck between bring a small town and growing into a far away outer Melbourne commuter town.

"An honour to be able to raise our son in such a fantastic friendly environment"

We recently moved to Warragul in May and like it that much we have just bought a house here as Master 4 is starting kinder next year we have decided to make this our forever place to settle down. He currently attends Good learning on Sutton street and the staff there are absolutely fantastic. Especially Elissa who has gone above and beyond to help us with his toilet training and speech. And the best thing is it’s not that far out of Melbourne for me to still see my stroke specialists. The people are friendly and always give a smile as your passing them down the street and I can’t believe how patient the drivers are they are always slowing down and stopping allowing me time to cross the road at my pace and in a safely manner. And as for the children even the teenagers are so well mannered it’s going to be a great honour and pleasure to bring our son up in such a friendly environment

"real up and coming"

Started working in the area and have felt very welcome. The people here do little things like stop for a person trying to crass the road, Most people who cross then wave there thanks. coming from the CBD this has made this area stand out and different to what i'm use too.

"Ahhh Warragul!"

One of the worlds best kept secrets...if your over 60! i love not being the only one who does gardening in my street, when i look around every bodys doing it its a great atmosphere..the sounds of mowers and secoteurs, oh and did i mention the roses, mmmm roses! great wheel chair access into town its all down hill!! a bit harder getting home though so i bought an electric one with a roof ,because it rains quite a bit, but thats also good for the garden, so enjoy yourselves here.

"Ok to live here but the shopping and fine dining is terrible"

Warragul is caught between two worlds...the 1950's and the 21st century. The general community wants it to go forward but the council and developers are determined to make Warragul stay where they think it belongs and that is in the hands of a few at the cost of planned and sustainable growth.
The shopping strip is a joke. Twenty five minutes to find a park in a continuous merry go round of cars. Pedestrian crossings that defy imagination; fourteen in a half kilometre stretch.
Poor dining, outrageous prices and a terrible choice in products.
The majority of Warragul shop in Narre Warren for good reason. If you are palanning a shift to West Gippsland for peace and quite, brace yourself if Warragul is where you choose. Head north to Neerim South or stay west in Bunyp/Garfield. Same shopping, same pub meals but closer to Fountain Gate.
Forget Warragul!

lilllly Although you are fairly entitled to your opinion, I have lived in Warragul most of my life and find it to be a really nice town. Most of the pedestrian crossings have been removed and the parking is not as exaggerated as you say. Warragul is a beautiful little town and the shopping is not that bad. Nice place to live, suited to almost everrybody except city lovers.

"Everything here for an Organic way of life."

Buln Buln East offers a fabulous clean and healthy life style for city slickers and family dwellers. It has everything.... With Warragul close by and the Neighbours as friendly as Pie, this is the place to live if you want to escape the rat race without going out too far to get it.

In our time at Buln Buln we have experienced Lyerbirds, echidnas, wallabies, snakes, and all the wonderful interest this brings. We have our own park so we dont use the parks, we have our own veggies and orchids, and heating system, so we don't take much out of the grids we collect our own water and live sustainably, Im sure everyone else will get there eventually, but if you want to get ahead , this is the place to do it... We love it. Its truely green. People can talk about sustainability but this is how to do it on a grand scale.

why_me
why_me You are very lucky land sizes growing too small to even get a decent sized garden. The country life in Warragul slowly vanishing and being replaced by stamped out housing on plots so small you can forget even a small veg bed.
