The area of old Yanchep is really just that - the older houses on the older streets that have been established for many years. In some ways it is better than new Yanchep because the land size is bigger and there is less order and similarity between houses. You are more likely to find a house with some beachside character in the old section and in some spots (if you pay enough!) be closer to the beach as well. Some spots are fairly ordinary, but others really have the beach feel as you drive up and down old 'sand dunes'. The new area is much more uniform and has smaller blocks of land, topped with new houses that all look the same. Much like the rest of the city, it depends upon what you are after - new can be better in many ways.
